The 21st Century Swing band was chosen to perform for the Blackpool Command 60th Show in 2009 where they won in the category of Best Male Trio. The prestigious band took the trophy home a second time in 2013 when they were asked to perform again among some of the most talented acts from around the country.

When asked how the band was able to astonish their clients over and over and to secure an elite list of repeat patrons, the band attributed their success to first having an invaluable trust and bond amongst each other. “In the first instance we are all very good friends which is a must on stage in order to perform at your best, secondly we really do approach our music differently to our competitors and this has proved to pay dividends,” says band member Mike Tomes.

The band prides itself in the thrill it receives from the energy of playing live music and says that music isn’t just a career for them, but a “way of life”. For the last thirteen years, 21st Century Swing has been working as Fuel, their “alter-ego” band that encompasses a live party atmosphere from pop, funk, soul, Motown sounds, reggae and of course swing- the type of sound that is sure to leave every chair in the room empty as patrons crowd the dance floor.

The band has recently performed at events for large corporations such as Magna Centre, Haven Holidays, Manchester Airport, Burntwood Court Hotel, and Hilton Group to name a few.
